Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 and the severally severing 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 Till an appointed term, 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
