HALLOWED is He who has set up in the skies great constellations, and has placed among them a [radiant] lamp and a light-giving moon. 61 It is He who has made the night and day follow each other for those whom He desires to remember or He desires to be thankful. 62 And the slaves of the Most Beneficent (Allah) are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with mild words of gentleness. 63 and who remember their Sustainer far into the night, prostrating themselves and standing; 64 And who say: Our Lord! Avert from us the doom of hell; lo! the doom thereof is anguish; 65 It is a terrible abode and an evil station," 66 They are those who are neither extravagant nor niggardly, but keep a balance between the two; 67 And those who cry not unto any other god along with Allah, nor take the life which Allah hath forbidden save in (course of) justice, nor commit adultery - and whoso doeth this shall pay the penalty; 68 The doom will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein disdained for ever; 69 except for those who repent and believe and do good deeds. God will change the evil deeds of such people into good ones: He is most forgiving and most merciful. 70 And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allah with [accepted] repentance. 71 And those who do not bear false witness, and when they pass by frivolity, they pass by with dignity; 72 And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind. 73 and who pray "O our Sustainer! Grant that our spouses and our offspring be a joy to our eyes, and cause us to be foremost among those who are conscious of Thee!" 74 They will all receive Paradise as their reward for their forbearance and patience, where they will be greeted with, "Peace be with you." 75 Dwelling therein;- how beautiful an abode and place of rest! 76 Say, "What would my Lord care for you, if you do not call on Him. Because you have indeed rejected the truth and His punishment is bound to overtake you. 77
