Thamood, too, belied Our warnings. 23 They said, "Should we follow only one person among us. We shall be clearly in error and in trouble (if we do so). 24 Has the [Divine] message been revealed to him alone of all of us? No, he is a boastful liar." 25 "Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar! 26 Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 Tell them that the water is to be apportioned between them (and her); and every turn of drinking will be fixed (for each)." 28 But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). 29 Ah! how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning! 30 For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. 31 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 32 The people of Lut belied the warnings. 33 Surely We sent upon them a stonestorm, except Lut's followers; We saved them a little before daybreak, 34 As a Grace from Us: thus do We reward those who give thanks. 35 Lot warned them against Our torment, but they persistently disputed it. 36 Even his guests they had solicited of him; so We obliterated their eyes, saying, 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 37 And verily, an abiding torment seized them early in the morning. 38 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 39 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 40
