Nay, and by the moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 a warning to mortal man 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 Till death overtook us. 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
