Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a high Garden 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 In which are high thrones. 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
