Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the midday brightness 1 and by the night when it covers the world with peace: 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased, 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan, and shelter thee? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 And found you in need, so made you prosperous? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness, 9 And as for him who asks, do not chide (him), 10 and proclaim the bounties of your Lord. 11
