Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
