The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
