3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
