Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
