Ad gave the lie to the apostles. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: fear ye not? 124 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 125 so fear you God, and obey you me. 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 "Will you, in your wanton folly, build [idolatrous] altars on every height, 128 and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever? 129 “And when you apprehend someone, you seize him mercilessly?” 130 Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 131 and fear Him who has succoured you with what you know, 132 He has given you flocks and sons, 133 And gardens and springs. 134 "Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day." 135 They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 And we are not going to be punished. 138 In response they denied him – We therefore destroyed them; indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 139 Surely your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 140
