Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
