The Column (Al-Suff)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifieth Allah, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 1 O you who believe, why do you profess what you do not practise? 2 Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do. 3 Verily, Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in rows (ranks) as if they were a solid structure. 4 Remember when Moses said to his people, "O my people, why do you cause me grief when you know that I am God's Messenger to you?" When they wavered, God let their hearts waver too. God does not guide transgressors. 5 Remember when Jesus, son of Mary, said, "O Children of Israel, I am sent to you by God, confirming the Torah that came before me and bringing good news of a messenger to follow me, whose name will be Ahmad." Yet when he came to them with clear signs, they said, "This is merely sorcery." 6 And who is more unjust than one who fabricates a lie against Allah whereas he is being called towards Islam? And Allah does not guide the unjust people. 7 They desire to put out the light of Allah with their mouths but Allah will perfect His light, though the unbelievers may be averse. 8 He it is Who sent His Apostle with the guidance and the true religion, that He may make it overcome the religions, all of them, though the polytheists may be averse. 9
