The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 Have fear of the One who has created you and the generations that lived before you." 184 They replied, "You are bewitched. 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
