The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
