۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 In fact this day they have all surrendered. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” – 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 Then, are we not to die 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
