Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
We were indeed gracious to Moses and Aaron, 114 And We saved them and their people from the great affliction, 115 And helped them so that they became the victors. 116 We gave them the explicit Book, 117 guided them to the right path, 118 and left them thus to be remembered among later generations: 119 'Peace be upon Moses and Aaron' 120 Even thus do We reward the doers of good. 121 Verily the twain were of Our bondmen believing. 122 And verily, Iliyas (Elias) was one of the Messengers. 123 when he spoke [thus] to his people: "Will you not remain conscious of God? 124 Would you call on Baal and leave the best of creators, 125 Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 126 But they denied him [Iliyas (Elias)], so they will certainly be brought forth (to the punishment), 127 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 Peace be upon Elias. 130 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 131 He was one of Our believing servants. 132 And verily, Lout (Lot) was one of the Messengers. 133 When We rescued him and his entire household. 134 Except an old woman (who was) amongst those who tarried. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 And lo! ye verily pass by (the ruin of) them in the morning 137 And at night; will you not then reflect? 138

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
