Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the loosed ones successively 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 until an appointed time? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
