Hizb 46

And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
