Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In high empyrean 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Would it had been the end! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
