The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. 1 We created man of a sperm-drop, a mingling, and We made him hearing, seeing. 2 Indeed, We have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains, fetters, and a Blaze. 4 Surely the righteous shall drink of a cup the admixture of which is camphor 5 A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance. 6 They fulfil their pledges, and fear a day the evil of which is widespread. 7 who give food, for the love of Him to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, 8 'We feed you only for the Face of God; we desire no recompense from you, no thankfulness; 9 Verily we dread from our Lord a Day grim and distressful. 10 Therefore, God will ward off from them the woes of that Day, and make them find brightness and joy, 11 And reward them for their perseverence Paradise and silken robes, 12 Reclining upon couches, they will find therein neither the heat of the sun nor bitter, biting cold, 13 the shading branches of trees will come down low over them, and their clusters of fruit, will hang down where they are the easiest to reach. 14 and passed around them shall be silver vessels, and crystal goblets, 15 goblets of silver that they have precisely measured. 16 And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger 17 from a spring named salsabil. 18 ۞ And there shall go round unto them youths ever-young. When thou seest them thou wouldst deem them pearls unstrung. 19 And when thou lookest, it is there thou wilt see a Bliss and a Realm Magnificent. 20 they will wear green garments of fine silk and rich brocade. They will be adorned with silver bracelets. And their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 This will be their reward and their efforts will be appreciated. 22
