Blessed is He who, if He willed, could have made for you [something] better than that - gardens beneath which rivers flow - and could make for you palaces. 10 Aye! they belie the Hour; and We have gotten ready for him who belieth the Hour a Flame. 11 When it (Hell) sees them from a far place, they will hear its raging and its roaring. 12 And when they are thrown into a narrow place therein bound in chains, they will cry out thereupon for destruction. 13 It will be said “Do not pray this day for one death – and pray for many deaths.” 14 Say: 'Is that better, or the Garden of Eternity which the cautious have been promised? It is their recompense and their arrival' 15 “In it for them is all that they may desire, abiding in it for ever; a promise incumbent upon your Lord, that is prayed for.” 16 And on that Day (your Lord will gather these people together as well as their deities, whom they worship besides AIlah. Then He will ask them, "Did you mislead these servants of Mine, or did they themselves go astray?" 17 They will say: "Glory to Thee! not meet was it for us that we should take for protectors others besides Thee: But Thou didst bestow, on them and their fathers, good things (in life), until they forgot the Message: for they were a people (worthless and) lost." 18 “So the deities have belied what you state – so now you can neither avert the punishment nor help yourself; and whoever among you is unjust, We shall make him taste a terrible punishment.” 19 We never sent any messengers before you who did not eat food and walk in the market-place. We make some of you a means of trial for others, to see whether you are steadfast. Your Lord is all seeing. 20
