Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 can lure away from God any 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 that they shall receive Our help 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
