Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for the living and the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
