The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 Have fear of the One who has created you and the generations that lived before you." 184 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful. 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
