Al-Najm 3 of 3
(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
