But no one believed Moses, except [some] youths among his people, for fear of Pharaoh and his establishment that they would persecute them. And indeed, Pharaoh was haughty within the land, and indeed, he was of the transgressors 83 Moses told his people, "If you have submitted yourselves to God and have faith in Him, put your trust in Him". 84 They said, 'In God we have put our trust. Our Lord, make us not a temptation to the people of the evildoers, 85 Save us, through Your Mercy, from the unbelieving nation' 86 And We revealed to Musa and his brother, saying: Take for your people houses to abide in Egypt and make your houses places of worship and keep up prayer and give good news to the believers. 87 And Moses said, "Our Lord, indeed You have given Pharaoh and his establishment splendor and wealth in the worldly life, our Lord, that they may lead [men] astray from Your way. Our Lord, obliterate their wealth and harden their hearts so that they will not believe until they see the painful punishment." 88 He said, “The prayer of you two is accepted, therefore remain firm, and do not follow the way of the unwise.” 89 ۞ We brought the Children of Israel through the sea, and Pharaoh and his legions pursued them arrogantly and frantically. But as he was drowning he cried out: '(Now) I believe that there is no god except He in whom the Children of Israel believe. I am of those that surrender (Muslims)' 90 (Thereupon came the response): 'Now you believe, although you disobeyed earlier and were one of the mischief-makers. 91 So this day We deliver thee in thy body that thou mayest be a sign unto those after thee, and verily many of mankind are of our signs neglectful. 92
