The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 Then made him a drop of fluid in a secure shelter. 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
