The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
