Verily We bestowed Our favours on Moses and Aaron 114 and saved them and their people from great distress. 115 We helped them, and they became victorious, 116 And We gave them both the Book that made (things) clear. 117 And guided them to the Straight Path. 118 and left for them among the later folk 119 Peace be with Moses and Aaron. 120 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 121 Surely both of them were among Our believing servants. 122 Elijah too was one of the messengers. 123 When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 "Will ye call upon Baal and forsake the Best of Creators,- 125 who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" 126 And they denied him, so indeed, they will be brought [for punishment], 127 Except the sincere and devoted Servants of Allah (among them). 128 and We left for him among the later folk 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 131 For he was one of our believing Servants. 132 And Lot too was one of the Messengers. 133 When We delivered him and his followers, all-- 134 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind; 135 and We destroyed the others. 136 and, verily, [to this day] you pass by the remnants of their dwellings at morning-time 137 And at night. Will ye not therefore reflect? 138

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
