The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 a host of the ancients 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On studded thrones. 15 facing one another. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and shade extended, 30 And water gushing, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 for the people of the right hand 38
