Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He in whose hands is the Kingdom and who has power over all things. 1 who created death and life that He might examine which of you is best in deeds, and He is the Almighty, the Forgiving, 2 He created seven heavens one above the other in layers. You will not find any flaw in the creation of the Gracious One. Then look once again: can you see any flaw? 3 Then look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation and worn out. 4 And certainly We have adorned this lower heaven with lamps and We have made these missiles for the Shaitans, and We have prepared for them the chastisement of burning. 5 Those who are bent on blaspheming against their Lord will have the punishment of Hell: an evil destination. 6 When they will be cast into it, they will hear it roar as it boils, 7 nearly bursting apart out of rage. Every time a host is cast therein, its keepers will ask them: 'Did no one come to warn you' 8 They will reply: "Yea, a warner did indeed come unto us, but we gave him the lie and said, 'Never has God sent down anything [by way of revelation]! You [self-styled warners] are but lost in a great delusion!"' 9 And they will add: "Had we but listened [to those warnings,] or [at least] used our own reason, we would not [now] be among those who are destined for the blazing flame!" 10 So it is that they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze! 11 Lo! those who fear their Lord in secret, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward. 12 Whether you speak in secret or aloud, He knows what is in every heart. 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
