The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta-Seen*; these are verses of the Qur’an and the clear Book. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever he reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 a guidance, and good tidings unto the believers 2 Who establish prayer and give zakah, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. 3 We have made those who do not believe in the Hereafter feel their actions appear good to them, so they wander blindly: 4 Those are they for whom shall be an evil torment. And in the Hereafter they shall be the greatest losers. 5 And verily thou art receiving the Qur'an from before the Wise, the Knowing. 6 Lo! [While lost in the desert,] Moses said to his family: "Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]; I may bring you from there some tiding [as to which way we are to pursue,] or bring you [at least] a burning brand so that you might warm yourselves." 7 When he approached the fire, he was told, "Blessed is the one in the fire and those around it. All glory belongs to God, the Lord of the Universe. 8 O Moses, indeed it is I - Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise." 9 And throw down thy staff! But when he saw it writhing as it were a demon, he turned to flee headlong; (but it was said unto him): O Moses! Fear not! the emissaries fear not in My presence, 10 Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful. 11 "And put your hand into your bosom, it will come forth white without hurt. (These are) among the nine signs (you will take) to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people, they are a people who are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 12 But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic." 13 and they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, wrongfully and out of pride. Behold, how was the end of the workers of corruption! 14
