Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the Reality? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 In high empyrean 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
