The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
