And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They answered: "No; but we found our forefathers doing so." 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds; 77 Who created me and Who guides me; 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 Except him who comes to Allah with a heart free (from evil). 89 For, [on that Day,] paradise will be brought within sight of the God-conscious, 90 and hell will be left open for the rebellious ones 91 "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 and we have no intercessors now, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
