The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 and weigh with the straight balance, 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 Fear He who created you, and the generations of the ancient' 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
