The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
