The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and the night that falls, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
