And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
