Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 in an exalted garden 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 And not known my account! 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
