The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness this City;- 1 this land in which thou art free to dwell 2 And (the mystic ties of) parent and child;- 3 that We have created man into a life of toil and trial. 4 Does he think that never will anyone overcome him? 5 He says, "I have spent enormous wealth." 6 Does man think that no one saw him? 7 Have We not given him two eyes, 8 a tongue, and two lips, 9 and guided him on the two highways? 10 Yet, he has not entered into Aqaba 11 and what shall teach thee what is the steep? 12 The freeing of a slave, 13 Or giving food in a day of hunger (famine), 14 To the orphan with claims of relationship, 15 or some needy person in distress, 16 and, then besides this, he be one of those who believed, and enjoined upon one another steadfastness and enjoined upon one another compassion. 17 Those are the Companions of the Right Hand. 18 And those who disbelieve in Our signs, they are the Companions of the Left Hand; 19 Upon them is a fire, in which they are imprisoned, closed and shut above them. 20
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
