The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due). 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
