And [yet,] they have a sign [of Our power to create and to resurrect] in the lifeless earth which We make alive, and out of which We bring forth grain, whereof they may eat; 33 We have placed in it gardens of date palms and vines, and caused springs to gush [forth] from it, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Glory be to Him Who created all the sexual pairs, of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves, and of that which they know not! 36 And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness. 37 And [they have a sign in] the sun: it runs in an orbit of its own [and] that is laid down by the will of the Almighty, the All-Knowing; 38 And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch. 39 Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship. 41 And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride. 42 And if We list, We shall drown them, and there will be no shout for them, nor will they be saved. 43 Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time. 44 When they are told, "guard yourselves against what is before you and what is behind you, in order that you may be shown mercy," [they turn away]. 45 And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error." 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 They await but one Shout, which will seize them while they dispute. 49 And they will not be able to make a disposition, nor to their family they return. 50
