Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
