Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 in a high Garden, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 nor any food save the filth 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
