Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 This (Qur’an) is sent down from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book whereof the Verses are explained in detail; A Quran in Arabic for people who know. 3 proclaiming good news and a warning. Yet most of them turn away and so do not listen. 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Say thou: "I am but a man like you: It is revealed to me by Inspiration, that your Allah is one Allah: so stand true to Him, and ask for His Forgiveness." And woe to those who join gods with Allah,- 6 Who do not give a due share of their wealth for the welfare of others, and do not believe in the Hereafter. 7 "The ones who believe and perform good deeds shall have a reward which will never be withheld from them." 8
