A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 And a multitude from the later generations. 40 As for the Companions of the Left 41 (They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water, 42 And the shade of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor refreshing. 44 Before they lived at ease, 45 And were stubborn upon the great sin (of disbelief). 46 And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 47 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 48 Tell them, (O Prophet): “The earlier ones and the later ones 49 "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known. 50 Then you, the erring ones and those that gave the lie to the Truth, 51 Will be eating from trees of zaqqum 52 and fill your bellies with it, 53 and on top of this you will drink boiling water 54 Drinking even as the camel drinketh. 55 That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense. 56 It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth? 57 So what is your opinion regarding the semen you discharge? 58 Did you create it or was it We who created it? 59 We have decreed among you Death; We shall not be outstripped; 60 from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not. 61 You have certainly known the first creation. Why, then, do you not take heed? 62 Have you considered the soil you till? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 If We willed, We verily could make it chaff, then would ye cease not to exclaim: 65 That, “We have indeed been penalised!” 66 Rather, we have been deprived." 67 Have you considered the water which you drink? 68 Send it down ye from the raincloud, or are We the Sender down? 69 If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give ye not thanks? 70 Have you considered the fire you kindle? 71 Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower? 72 We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. 73 Glorify, then, (O Prophet), the name of your Great Lord. 74
