Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are revelations of the wise Scripture, 2 A guidance and mercy for the righteous 3 who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment. 6 Whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a person, he turns away in his arrogance, as though he had not heard them -- as though his ears were sealed: give him, then, the tidings of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. 7 Verily, those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them are Gardens of delight (Paradise). 8 to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise. 9 He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
