And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
